I spent most of today in a small conference room as part of a process to settle a lawsuit our owners association has against the developer of the building we live in. It’s a construction defect lawsuit in which the HOA is the plaintiff. There is also a class action lawsuit on behalf of individual owners alleging fraud. I’m the plaintiff representing the class. Board members and our attorneys spent the day waiting while a retired judge went back and forth hoping to help us reach a settlement. It’s boring. It’s so boring that, at one point while our attorneys were out of the room, I crawled under the conference table and lay on the floor to take this photo with my cell phone. Who ever made the table apparently used a wrought iron gate as the main part, framing it with wood and topping it with glass.
We didn’t reach a settlement and it looks like we’re headed for trial. Finally, after five years.
