I needed to take a work break after drafting text for a marketing brochure. So I went out earlier in the day than usual. This time I mounted the wide angle (18 – 55 mm) zoom on my camera to make myself look at things a little differently. I guess the harsh light and sun angle made colors and the clashing lines of this house and stairway stand out.
I saw one other scene that I had to capture. There is a relatively new art gallery a few blocks up the street. I’ve chuckled at the juxtaposition of the sign above the big pipe device that is part of the front of that building. The gallery owners recently put the potted plants in front of the pipes. The wide angle lens, at 18 mm, helped me capture the entire scene from the curb.
